A spinning wheel made by Silas Barnum (1774-1828) was donated to the New Fairfield Historical Society by the family of Robert and Joyce Osnoe. Silas Barnum was known for making spinning wheels in the early 1800s. He owned several properties in New Fairfield and is buried in Beaver Bog Cemetery, The spinning wheel is on display in the Hisrorical Room in the New Fairfield Free Public Library.
